Multifunctional transmitter RM-XT

Function

The devices from the SensorLine RM-XT range are differential pressure transmitters with additional multifunctional signal inputs for external sensors and a signal processor system. The transmitters are suited for harsh industrial environments and are used to measure non-corrosive gaseous media in above atmospheric or negative pressure ranges and connection to external sensors.

The differential pressure sensors integrated in the device convert the measured variable pressure/differential pressure to an electrical measuring signal. Within the calibrated measuring range, the electrical output signal is proportional to the present pressure/differential pressure. Thanks to the use of piezoresistive measuring cells and highly precise compensation and evaluation electronics the transmitters are calibrated for a broad temperature and pressure range with very narrow error margins.

For a temperature measurement, an external signal input is adjusted via a PT100 without measuring head. A second signal input is provided for the connection of an external pressure/differential pressure or temperature sensor.

Three signal outputs with analog proportional signals or square-root signal are available for signal transmission. All internal and external measuring signals can be transmitted via an RS-485 interface at a rate of 9600 bauds. The interface is suited for programmed logic controllers, process control systems and for the RECOMATIC control systems with R-IMC bus protocol. Two selector switches can be used to adjust the signal outputs, set the sensor measuring limits, bus address and device configuration.

Types

For a flexible application, devices with one or two differential pressure sensors for different measuring ranges are available. All device versions are also available for Ex areas acc. to ATEX zone 22, cat. 3D. The explosion proof versions are approved by DEKRA-EXAM.

Combined with the RM-OP32 control panel, the multifunctional RM-XT transmitters can be extended as controller system for on-off, three-step or continuous control processes.
